July 25

I took photos at the Sioux Narrows-Nestor Falls Healthy Living Coalition Triple P Fun Race (say that three time fast!) on Sunday. Everyone had a fun time. Pictures here.

July 12

Storms rolled through the area and a lot of trees came down. This white pine came down on a neighbor's roof.

July 5

Went out on the lake today. Pictures were taken west of Bald Rock. Big sky. Big water.

July 4

Rain in the morning, but the skies cleared for the Walker's annual party. Record attendance this year!

June 23

Smoke on the water, fire in the sky.....

June 21

I've been in the wilds of northern Wisconsin for the last few days visiting my favorite aunt and cousin. We took Lee Ellen's son Logan to camp.

June 14

My buddy returned this morning. He was preening himself again and ruffled out all his feathers.

June 12

This is what I saw when I looked out my front door this morning. He was busy preening. And I've got some maintenence going on too, got to stop that leak!

Later, I went into town for the dedication of the new ball field at the park.

June 5

Rain in the north woods.... but that's okay. Some pictures between showers...

June 3

This is currently Two's favorite place to sleep during the day

May 27

Yesterday I planted trees, fifteen Norway pine seedlings. I'd like to think I'd see them grow to be 100 feet tall, but I'd be kidding myself. Today, I'm doing the opposite, taking down trees. The trees I'm dealing with today today are dead, so it's the whole cycle thing. One tree I'll be cutting down is a Jack Pine that was planted by my Uncle Carlton.
I looked at it last year and knew it was on its last legs, but it held memories for me. There were no Jack Pines on the island, so Carlton decided we should plant one. (That's how Carlton was, he once attended a meeting concerning how a plant considered an invasive weed should be eradicated and he argued for keeping it.) Typically, Jacks grow on craggy, rocky islands, you see them hanging on where there doesn't seem to be an ounce of dirt. Carlton found one tree, planted it and it did just OK. I think the soil was just too good for it. This year it's gone, no green needles on it at all.
I'll be planting another Jack Pine in the same spot later this summer....

May 25

My friend Susan wanted a picture of my flower boxes on my dock. My geraniums didn't survive the winter!

May 21

Back in the northwoods and life is good. Lake is very low.

And so it begins...

Joy, joy, happy, happy. The front of the house is getting painted. W-a-y too much fun.

March 11

As Homer Simpson says, "Mmmm, Beer." Liz Laughlin, the brewmaster at the Rock Bottom on 86th St, graciously allowed me to take some photos. It was a short session, I'll be heading back...

February 9

Light snow this morning, so scooped the drive clean, then grabbed the camera and went out shooting. Bridge at IMA

February 6

It snowed in Indy, 6 inches on the ground at my house. Time to get the snow thrower out! (New window is going to open to play this quicktime movie.)

January 2010

Why... how about that, we've jumped into another year! Let's see, Thanksgiving was good, was busy in December getting a tooth pulled. Spent Christmas with the kids (I got a new circular saw and a sander! Woot!) It was a quiet New Years Eve, got to use my snow thrower and last weekend, went down to Nashville (Indiana) to see the Barnstormers.
